The Cliffs of Moher
Only a short drive from Aiteall Accommodation, the Cliffs of Moher stretch 14km along the Atlantic coastline. Walk from Doolin along the reopened northern trail (approx. 13km return) for breathtaking views of the Aran Islands and Galway Bay.
Insider Tip:
Visit at sunset if visibility is good to avoid peak crowds and experience one of the most spectacular views in Ireland.
Discover Doolin & The Aran Islands
Doolin is famous for traditional Irish music, lively pubs and ferry departures to the Aran Islands. Take a day trip with Doolin Ferry to Inis Oírr, Inis Meáin or Inis Mór for rugged beauty and Irish heritage and culture.

Lahinch village - a coastal gem
Less than a 10 minute drive away from Aiteall Accommodation, Lahinch Beach is over a mile long and perfect for surfing, swimming and coastal walks.

Enjoy live music, great restaurants and classic seaside charm. Lahinch also has the famous links golf course for anyone up for a stunning 18 holes.
Clahane Shore & Coastal Loop
Walk the Clahane coastal loop (4–5km) with panoramic views across Liscannor Bay.
It is a rocky seashore so no beach and no sand! Popular for locals and visitors as a swimming spot, when the tide is right - and the weather of course - it is paradise on earth.
Liscannor village
This is authentic coastal Clare — peaceful yet lively.
Located a 25 minute walk from our door - Liscannor village is a great spot to have the chat with locals and live entertainment. Famous for its flagstone, St. Brigid’s Well and being the birthplace of John Phillip Holland (inventor of the submarine), the beauty of this coastline is what entices its visitors back year on year and convinces many to stay permanently.
Burren Adventure
Explore one of Ireland’s most unique landscapes — a UNESCO Global Geopark of limestone hills, wildflowers and ancient tombs.
Suggested itinerary - A morning hike at Mullaghmore in the heart of the Burren National Park. Following this head to the iconic Poulnabrone Dolmen (older than the pyramids).
Next a visit and lunch stop to the Burren Perfumery is an absolute must! Lastly visit the wonderful Kilfenora village where the Burren centre gives a fantastic overview of the geology, nature, heritage and culture of this special place.
Ennistymon & The Falls Glen Walk
A charming Victorian market town.
Just inland from the coast and a 15 minute drive from our door. Walk the wooded glen behind the Falls Hotel along the cascading River Inagh that loops back in town.

Surfing in Lahinch
Lahinch Beach is one of Ireland’s most popular surf destinations and is ideal for beginners and intermediate surfers.
Long sandy beach (over 1 mile), gentle rolling waves for learners, experienced instructors and equipment hire available and year-round surf conditions.

Summer: 14–16°C
Autumn: 13–15°C
Spring: 9–12°C
Winter: 8–10°C
With a wetsuit (provided by local surf schools), surfing is comfortable even outside peak summer.
Sea Kayaking Along the Clare Coast
For a different perspective of the Atlantic coastline, sea kayaking offers a breathtaking and peaceful adventure.
Paddle beneath towering cliffs, explore hidden coves and experience marine wildlife up close. Guided tours with North Clare Sea Kayaking operate depending on sea and weather conditions and typically depart from areas such as; Doolin, Ballyvaughan and Liscannor Bay.
Sea kayaking is suitable for beginners with guided instruction, while experienced paddlers can enjoy longer coastal routes.
Lake Kayaking & Inland Paddling

The North section of the Cliffs of Moher Coastal Trail remains open - this is approximately 13 km round trip starting at Doolin village.
The Glen Falls Loop, ennistymon.
Mullaghmore Loop (Burren National Park) - there are several options - just follow the different colour arrows for a route that best suits you.
Caher Valley Loop OR Black Head Loop, Fanore
